Case Details Explained
Case Title
A brief, clear summary of your legal need. This is the first thing lawyers see.
Good Examples:
- • "Uncontested Divorce Filing Assistance"
- • "Business Contract Review - SaaS Agreement"
- • "DUI Defense Representation"
- • "Landlord-Tenant Dispute Resolution"
Avoid:
- • "Need help" (too vague)
- • "URGENT!!!" (unprofessional)
- • Very long titles over 100 characters
- • Personal information in title
Description
Provide detailed information about your legal situation. The more specific you are, the better proposals you'll receive.
Include:
- Background of the situation
- What you need help with specifically
- Any relevant dates or deadlines
- Expected outcomes or goals
- Any documents you already have
Privacy Note
Don't include sensitive personal information (SSN, passwords, financial account numbers) in your description. Share these securely after hiring a lawyer.
Category
Select the area of law that best matches your case:
Urgency Level
Low
No immediate deadline. Can wait weeks.
Medium
Need help within 1-2 weeks.
High
Urgent deadline or time-sensitive matter.
Location
Enter your city in California. This helps lawyers who are familiar with local courts and regulations find your case.
Setting Up Milestones
Milestones break your case into manageable payment stages. This protects both you and the lawyer.
Break work into logical phases
Each milestone should represent a deliverable or completion point
Set clear amounts for each milestone
You'll fund each milestone before the lawyer begins that phase
Add descriptions to clarify expectations
Define what "complete" looks like for each milestone
Example: Divorce Case Milestones
