When to File a Dispute
Disputes should be a last resort after attempting to resolve issues directly. Consider filing when:
Client Reasons
- • Work quality doesn't meet expectations
- • Lawyer missed agreed deadlines
- • Work differs from scope agreed
- • Lawyer is non-responsive
- • Billing/payment disagreements
Lawyer Reasons
- • Client refuses to approve valid work
- • Scope changed without agreement
- • Client is non-responsive
- • Client requests unreasonable changes
- • Client violates terms
Before Filing
Always try to resolve issues through direct communication first. Many disputes can be avoided through clear discussion. File a dispute only when you've exhausted other options.
