Learn how to securely fund milestones and how your money is protected until you approve the work.
Your Money Is Protected
Funds are held securely by Stripe until you approve the completed work. The lawyer cannot access the money until you release it.
How to Fund a Milestone

Go to Your Case
Navigate to Dashboard → My Cases → Select your case

Find the Milestone
Locate the milestone you want to fund (shows as "Unfunded")

Click "Fund Milestone"
Opens the secure payment form

Enter Payment Details
Credit card, debit card, or other accepted methods

Confirm Payment
Review the amount and confirm. Funds go to escrow immediately.

When is my card charged?
Immediately when you fund a milestone. The charge appears as "LAWCHAIN" or "STRIPE".
Can I fund multiple milestones at once?
Yes, you can fund any or all upcoming milestones. Funds stay in escrow until each milestone is completed.
What if I need to cancel after funding?
If work hasn't started, you can request a refund. See our Refunds & Cancellations guide.
